The CAD Designer is responsible for the design and development of new and existing HMI / Mechatronic products that are manufacturable, cost effective, meet customer specifications and maintain Company standards. Currently, this role is focused on HMI Shifter Assembly Products. This position may also include temporary / short term assignments at ZF locations in Germany and / or Mexico, which is comprised of training and development programs on the ZF Mechatronic product line as part of the core Program Team.
Creates and/or modifies 2D drawings and 3D models as requested by the Design Engineering Team as per Internal or Customer CAD standards. (ISO, AMSE)
Leads the development of 2D drawing layouts, GD&T and tolerance creation for Concept, Prototype and Production level designs
Maintains 2D drawings with updates and revisions as needed
Creates and /or modifies PDM (Enovia) data as needed
Operates CAD System, prints hard copies, prepares files for data transfer (TeamCenter, Cloud-Sharing, FPT protocols, etc.) using Catia V5 and / or Siemens NX-11 as necessary.
Leads drawing reviews at pre-defined program stages as needed
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.
Ensure compliance with the ZF Quality Management System requirements (ZF QMS) which includes IATF 16949 and Customer Specific Requirements (CSR).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Associate's Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering
4-5+ years (related) experience with 2D/3D CAD Design
Proficient with Catia V5 and/or Siemens NX-11 Ability to define GD&T and tolerance creation, perform stack-up studies Automotive industry experience Preferred Skills and experience:
Experience with HMI / Mechatronics Products with focus on HMI control systems / shifter products Familiar with PDM systems (TeamCenter, Enovia)
Spanish and/or German language skills
